A partnership programme between Sefton Sports Council and the Community Foundation for Merseyside. The fund will provide support for sports clubs wishing to deliver projects addressing the priorities of Sefton Sport and Physical Activity Alliance. The programme has been designed to respond to priorities associated with leaving a long term legacy in place linked to London 2012 Grants of up to £3000 are available for projects which support beneficiaries 16yrs old and over covering one or more of the following: Increased Participation: Increased links with key partners to run additional activities in schools, clubs or community environments. Additional activities could include; taster sessions, coaching programmes, open days, etc. Gifted and Talented Performers: Specialist coaching programmes for talented performers, including Talent ID in specialist coaching academies. Coaches & Volunteers: Increasing number of new and qualified coaches and volunteers. Providing training and voluntary placements. Inclusive Sport: Providing the opportunity for disabled young people & adults to progress in sport in club environments. N.B Projects should help target worklessness and progress individuals towards employment through learning and educational projects. The fund aims to break down barriers to employment, boost confidence, self esteem and help people to develop useable skills. The next closing date for applications is 21st January 2011.

The Big Lottery Fund and Channel 4 have launched a joint Secret Millionaire Fund to support projects that give people better chances in life, build stronger communities, improve rural and urban environments, or promote healthier and more active people and communities. Lottery funding worth £1 million will be allocated as grants between £300 and £10,000 to organisations across the UK. For more information go to the Channel 4 website.

BIG's Awards for All programme is the Fund's biggest ever commitment to a small grant scheme supporting community projects, offering a more easily accessible programme and quicker decision times.
A total of £45 million is available in England, offering Big Lottery Fund grants of between £300 to £10,000 to grassroots groups in the community and voluntary sector, health bodies, schools and parish and town councils.
